It looks like the V1 has a new rival. I wonder if it means that from now on it will be the V1 vs. The Redline instead of the V1 vs. the 9500ix?

Question, does Redline have an auto-volume feature that uses a microphone to adjust alert volume?

Also, where there any instant-on encounters where one or the other failed to alert?
according to the online manual that was up briefly it does.

I hope so, the 9500ix and the V1 are no competition for each other, they serve 2 totally different purposes and they both do them the best. Plus i wont have to discuss why any more.

I hear you on that point. Redline/V1 will be the new rivalry.

Now that we have heard alittle on what the Redline can do. It's time for V1 to step up with something new.

If we could only wish on that! I think Mike V has quite the RD business--just let the V1 sell and when the sales die off--he will pack up and go.

    Awesome range + arrows = $400

    Awesome range + stealth = $500

Do that math. I don't see a rivalry. I see two totally different markets.

I'm afraid he's ridden that pony about as far as it will go. When the patent for the "arrows" expires IMO that pony will buckle and fall. Fair thee well MV.

Can't say I agree with that. Mike Valentine has a long standing history, tracking back to his days at C. Microwave, he tends to only move when getting pushed by the competition.

I remember when CM refused to add Ka band to their detectors to pick up photo radar..........that is until Bel did it........and then of course the V1 had it at introduction.

I remember when he indicated adding Laser detection was sensless because of the nature of Laser...........until other mfg's did it.

I remember when the Ka detection on V1 was pathetic...........until Escort rolled out the 8500.

The RedLine is another big shove as it finally eclipses the V1 in sensitivity in a Windshield Mount detector. Thats Mike's playing field..........and sensitivity has been a major virtue of the V1. I think he'll finally see a need to break camp and be on the move again.
