Default Escort 8500 X50 TSR video

Here is a video on the web of an earlier Escort 8500 S7 ( not X50) and a upgraded Escort 8500 X50 with TSR.

    TSR comparison

Good video, I much prefer my S7 over the new X50's.

That's the point of the video, there are no advantages.

Huh? That's not what was tested at all. Standard radar was tested with TSR on and off. The delay before warning was the same in all cases. That's the only "test" that I can see.

How about a real road test to look at this feature....

TSR, Traffic Sensor Rejection, is a software non-GPS anti-falsing solution we developed to address certain traffic flow sensors that broadcast K radar. These traffic sensors are not traffic enforcement related, nor are they the "Your Speed Is ___" signs equipped with radar. These sensors only monitor traffic flow and send this data to be used by navigation device providers, etc.

These traffic flow sensors are usually set up in series on highways and are very annoying if they are part of your daily commute. When enabled, TSR software is disabled by default, the Passport will ignore these traffic flow sensors while still detecting other radar signals. There is a slight increase in response time with TSR enabled so I recommend to leave it off unless you are effected by these traffic flow sensors. They are a solar panel and a silver tube mounted on a pole along the road emitting K band radar.

With TSR off the Passport will behave the same as it did without TSR software installed.
