Default Redline initial test results (Videos Added)

We just finished doing some preliminary testing, I'm not exactly impressed to say the least. Videos are being processed as I type this and should be posted shortly.

Basic non-scientific test results - These were done on a "around the curve" type test course. As you will see from the video, the course involved a left hand curve followed by a ~1500 ft strait. This test was done to simulate a real world situation and was by no means a science experiment. This was the best we could do at 2AM on a Monday night/Tuesday morning.

    Kustom Talon 35.5 Ka:

    V1 > Redline > STI

I'd say the V1 had about a 40-50 ft edge on the Redline and about a 100-120 ft edge on the STI. One thing I noticed is that the Redline actually lost the signal when about 1000 feet from the gun and picked it back up shortly after.

    Stalker ATR 34.7 Ka:

    Redline > V1 > STI

The redline had approximately 100 ft edge over the V1 and a 200 ft lead over the STI.

    Kustom Roadrunner K band:

    Redline > V1 = STI

In this case, the Redline had the edge by about 200 ft over the V1 and STI which were tied.

As far as QT goes, it seems escort has not done anything to improve performance. It performs on par with the STI for QT. What a big disappointment. Elvato was operating the radar, so he will have to post up his results. One thing I did notice from the QT testing, the Redline takes forever to ramp down. There was approximatly a 5-7 second delay before the unit went quiet after the radar was turned off.

Take the results as you will, the videos will be posted as soon as we can get them processed and uploaded. I'll probably run the redline for a couple days but at this point, with the spray paint finish and not exactly steller performance that escort claimed (barely beating out the V1 on 34.7), I'll probably end up sending it back. Let me know if you guys want to see any other specific tests.

Videos (Excuse the shakyness, I borrowed my roommates car because driving circles in a 6-speed S4 can become quite a chore):

    Either way, enjoy.

Surprised? I said the truth will come out soon. The Redline is a 9500CI minus GPS, minus ZR4. Thank you for your time CBR and Elvato. We really appreciated! There should be ZERO shockers with the Redline. The excitement is because it is a new product so I can understand. The response time is what it is for a reason. Belscort LOVES a quiet RD with minimal falsing. As technology is today, that can only come at the expense of performance. There is a huge market for a quiet RD. Just ask my wife, LOL

Not surprised at all. Another Escort product not living up to the hype.

This was probably due to the fact of interference inside the vehicle from another RD.

This is so true above, and is probably going to be the reason mine will go back before 30 days is up!

Ahhh, exactly what I have thought all along too... this is just another product that the veterans know what it is before it evens comes out... it would be a marginally better unit at best (think ZR3>HYPE>ZR4).

The only thing Escort did to make it seem more sensitive was make it so it never stops alerting to a radar source it saw... sounds like them these days.
    -At the head table-
"Hey how can we make this Redline seem more sensitive?"
-(New Guy)"We could actually tweak the M3 and software and make it more sensitive"
-(Collective Laughs)... "No, no lets just make it so it never ramps down creating the illusion it held onto the alert for an extra 4-5seconds"

    CBR and ELVATO
Thank you so much for your time... I hope to see more testing in the future... and I hope it goes better for it, though I know it won't.

Looks like they borrowed the ramp-down algorithm from the Beltronics side of the table.

lets keep in mind that Belscort makes one hell of a CO rd that "falses" less.
