I've been out straight, things to do every night this week, so the videos are still trapped in my camera... I might get them posted by the time the next Escort RD comes out.
Seems like the Redline beats the V1 for off-axis K band. There's a K-band speed trailer maybe 1/4 mile off the exit I take coming home from work. Driving into work, I go a different way so I'm on the highway already and I cross that exit. The Redline alerts consistently to it even though it's coming from the side, the V1 alerts sometimes but not always.
I had my first Cobra false from the Redline this morning, on I-93. It sounded Ka, frequency in the 33.6 neighborhood, since they don't MPH guns around here it had to have been a Crapra. The V1 didn't alert to it at all. The V1 alerted to an Infiniti's laser though, which the Redline didn't, as expected.
Surprisingly, I have seen almost no Ka band this week. I got a brief hit of 34.7 shortly before I got home last night, but didn't spot the source, must have been a state trooper on a side street. The Redline alerted before the V1.
One more observation: Unlike the X50, the Redline doesn't have a brightness button. Although the auto brightness works well, if you want to override it, or change to full-dark mode, you have to go into programming (aka Preferences) mode and change it from there, not something you can quickly do while driving.

If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!
If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

Thank you for the time you are taking to do these tests. I believe Happya$$ and DJ have told us that the Redline is like a 9500ci, so this should not come as a surprise to us. It looks like it does great on CO but i would like to see the comparison of IO. I'm just guessing but i believe we will see a different result. Thanks again kpatz, i hope you will have more.
I posted a couple polls for those who have both a V1 and a Redline to post their comparisons. One for C/O and one for I/O.
So far I haven't had any I/O encounters with my Redline, so I can't post any impressions on that yet. Using my own guns at point blank range can produce inconsistent results due to overload, so it's better to report based on real-world encounters with real LEOs.

Here's a map of my commute where I pass the speed trailer from different directions and where each RD alerts.

very cool , so at least raw performance the Red line does seem to edge the V1 slightly to some on some cases , however laser starting to become a bigger threat lately has me worried about the laser sensitivity , altough a passive laser defense is not enough as some have noted , also better QT and arrows , humm hard call , I think each detector will have it's crowd of followers , digitial display with voice and raw detection , or better laser detection ,better QT and arrows , also the red line is 100 dollars more , like someone said , without many features .
I think the major selling point of the Redline will be stealth, for those who live where RDs are illegal, or who drive a big rig.
If you need stealth, nothing else matters. And the Redline gives you V1-like sensitivity *and* stealth.
I wonder if they'll sell the Redline at truck stops like they were with the STi.

[quote=kpatz;618017]Well hammered .
In fact VR is taking the wrong route to not have a stealthed 1 ...
(very personnal opinion) ... unless they do skunkworks
VR confirms me , years ago , that it is impossible to build
an invisible rd.....not that I dont like VR ... just that I always
wished a V-2 ... true stealthed arrows.

O divine art of subtlety and secrecy!
Through you we learn to be invisible, through you inaudible;
and hence hold the enemy's fate in our hands.
