It filters X and K. The Redline doesn't have GPS so it's not speed sensitive.

How chatty is it compared to the V1?

In highway mode, it's as chatty or even moreso than the V1, due to its greater sensitivity. In auto mode, it's nice and quiet. Both X and K are filtered, unlike older Belscort models where auto/city only filtered X.

Sure, the 9500-series would be quieter in town with the GPS features, but I'm pretty happy with the Redline's auto mode filtering so far.

The Redline definitely scored a save tonight, on forward-facing 35.5 no less.

I was cruising along on a backroad in Salem when the Redline started alerting, rather urgently but not full-scale, on Ka, with 35.5 on the spec display. I started shedding speed, and then the V1 started chiming in a few seconds later. Next, I saw the cruiser tucked into a side street. After passing him, both detectors went full-scale, proving that he was shooting facing forward.

Granted, it was C/O, but the forward facing aspect of it made for difficult detection. The Redline gave me a few more seconds to slow down. The V1 certainly isn't bad, but in my case, the Redline has been beating it in almost every instance.

I have to say, if there is a 35.5 glitch that affects all Redlines, I haven't seen it yet. Mine's been awesome so far. It's the first Escort ever to knock my V1 off the top spot in the sensitivity dept.

I agree, that it is very good at constant on. I wished it had near perfect I/O under 1 second or Q/T though.

I''m noticing that the Redline is way, way more sensitive to K-band than the 9500ix is--in my in-town driving-- for every one time the 9500 alerts, the Redline alerts 5-6 times.
When they both alert, the redline alerts 40% sooner in terms of distance.

All-in-all, the Redline seems to be an absolute animal in terms of detecting K-band.

I've had a few times where I think the Redline might have "falsed", in the sense that it does not alert every time when going through that area, but that is like 1% of the total number of alerts. The rest of the time it was always in areas where I would expect there to be K-band signals.

Unfortunately, 99% of the radar in my area is Ka.

What do you think of the redlines range for ka?

So far, in my experience, it's an animal on Ka too. Certainly for C/O, and also on the one instance of I/O Ka (34.7) I've seen. I've only seen CO on 35.5 so far and it handily beats my V1 on that frequency.

What version of the V1 are you running?
