Please let us know if these tests are with the RX65 or older models of BEL products (or "lower" models <-- just as good though) because the autoscan scheme seems to be incorporated differently in different models other than the RX65. Also, state all the settings you have enabled/disabled to see if fellow users can also reproduce your experience. Thanks!
I almost always drive with the autoscan feature enabled. I have noticed no diffrience on the detection range or time. I use this when driving in a city where I am unsure if the Police use X Band or not. In my hometown area since I know that no X Band is used I disable it on the City setting.
I'm still driving on Highway Mode and I can really tell the difference. I think that I will save the AutoScan for a suburban area.
Just give me 1 good detector better than the rest....
or maybe just slow down.....naaaaaa

After reading these other posts, it seems like Autoscan is implemented differently in the RX-65, the 995, and the 985. It also seems different from the X50, although technically it is called auto sensitivity in the X50.

What happened to my x50
1983 Porsche Convertable 5 speed (Red of course)
I left it in the glove box overnight and the car obviously attracted some attention as well as the contents of the glove box :cry:
I still have the V1 on long trips but use the (ugly) RX65 as my every day driver.
I am itching to have an excuse to buy the STi...but it has to be better!
