Can a moderator please explain to me why the above mentioned thread was locked? If a moderator's job is NOT to filter content but rather to ensure forum rules are maintained then I'd really like to understand what rule was broken in this thread b/c it seems an awful lot like censorship rather than moderation to me.
I think the original poster has raised a valid point. You constantly see the same posters coming into threads regarding Escort products (and any non-V1 product for that matter) and derailing them with their incessant fanboyism and it's very distracting.
People come to this site to get educated. If they have to continually sift through all the V1 hijacking crap then they'll eventually quit coming here.
I'm all for someone objectively adding to the content of a particular thread - even if it's to suggest the pros and cons of a competing product - that's what a forum is for! But to simply (and constantly) burst into every Escort (or any other for that matter) thread and say "that products sucks - just buy a V1" adds no value. Furthermore it's distracting and annoying. Moderators do this too - and that makes it worse (for me).
Yes - I know... I have the right to choose what I read and don't read. My point is exactly that - if you don't do something about this then this site will quickly start loosing its appeal and people will stop coming. You'll then have a V1 forum.
I'm fairly new here and from an outsiders perspective looking in - this site really seems like a V1 fanboy site rather than a objective forum for discussing all facets of radar detectors and laser jammers.
And for the record - I plan on buying a V1. I like the product and I think it's great. I also think my 9500ix is great. This isn't an anti-V1 rant.
Just my opinion.
