3) No, you don't do it that way. You can run parallels (or one of many other packages for running Mac on windows) to run Windows on your Mac to run the update. Some packages are more or less running full blown Windows and will sureley work. Some other packages that integrate running Windows apps under MAc OS may not work. Given how fussy Detector tools is, I would use one the packages that basically fully boots up windows. THis all assume you have a reasonably new Mac..
