Default Three questions for a 9500ix from a MAC user

I have a MAC and have a couple of questions.

    (1)
Do I have to download any software initially to activate the GPS ?

    (2)
If I register my unit with my MAC and MAC e-mail address can I use another PC computer to get the updates ?

    (3)
If a download from a PC is put on a USB plug in or CD, can it (USB or CD) be then loaded onto the MAC and then have the MAC drag and drop the update.

    1) No.
    2) Yes.
    3) No, you don't do it that way. You can run parallels (or one of many other packages for running Windows on Mac) to run Windows on your Mac to run the update. Some packages are more or less running full blown Windows and will sureley work. Some other packages that integrate running Windows apps under MAc OS may not work. Given how fussy Detector tools is, I would use one of the packages that basically fully boots up windows. This all assumes you have a reasonably new Mac.

Once you have "Windows" running you can then install the Detector Tools. You can install detector tools on as many PC's as you want.

Note that it will only let you download each update ONCE though. But then you can copy that file to a thumb drive or something for your Mac. By the time you get your Mac all going though there will probably be another update.

    +1

I run VMWare Fusion to run detector tools 1.5 and it is flawless. Never had any problems with updates, but you must have a Windows install to run detector tools which i required for the updates.
