I think most people like mounting high so I don't foresee many using those

Being a resident of the fine ($$$) state of VA I do see this as a better option. Windshield mounting a rd and its profile would be a dead give away. However, dash mounting with this device can be a better way to conceal a rd. Think about how many gps units you see using this as a bean bag based mount... I always cover my rd with a light cap with the hopes that a police officer will think I am just a gps user not using his system....

I wanted to build a mount for a GPS that would incorporate and hide a RD. Kind of like that fake third breaklight thing. But then the STi-R came down in price.. I still kind of want to do it so I could run a V1 at the same time.
