no cordless detector will match a wired one. KA detection suffers, but the solo 2 is the best cordless model out.
Do a search here and there are recent threads associated with your question. I have a SOLO and a V1 to compare. The V1 picks up radar quicker but the SOLO isn't as bad as sometimes portrayed on these pages or I would have sent mine back within the 30 day return period. It is incredibly convenient to use and super concealable. In my experience, you always get warning in time to slow down but KA and Instant On radar are it's weakest link. I like mine and unless you are going 90 mph or the only one on the road full of traps, it is perfectly capable of protecting and entertaining you!

If you do purchase a solo i'd recomend also getting the smart cord to go with it.

It does. The SOLO came with a free Smartcord when I got mine in Nov 05. It's nice to have in case you suddenly become battery-less!
What i meant by purchasing the smart cord was for the dead battery instance. I thought that at first they didn't include the smart cord with the solo. Sorry for the mistake.
No worries mauiman, I knew what you meant! I think that there was a special promotion going on when I got mine but they are an extra $25 I think and definately worth having either way. I live in Va so I try and not have any cord action going on.
BTW mauiman, I went to Rockhurst College on 52nd and Troost years ago.
