I have two videos I took of the detectors vs a K band speed trailer in heavy trees and a bend that I will upload when I have time. I made two seperate runs in the same conditions with the detectors in the same position. I got .4 miles out of both detectors which isn't great but its a challenging course.
The Redline had seemed to be performing the same as the V1 on the false alarm door openers and by Saturday I was kind of worried that I bought into the Redline hype when in fact it wasn't much better than the V1. Then came Sunday, the 4th, my gf asked me to take her to Wildwood for the night which is about 60 miles from my house. I ran the Redline and had my first real speed trap. It was constant on X that I had 2.5 miles of warning; I was truely impressed. On the way home I had two more X encounters and a Ka all were picked up miles ahead.
Finally last night on a local 4 lane divided highway a cop was running saftey and left the Ka gun C/O with the gun facing me. I took a few runs and the Redline beat the V1 by quite a bit. The course included down a slight hill and then back up to where the radar source was. The Redline picked it up 1.4 miles away with a smooth ramp up. The V1 initially alerted at 1 mile and didnt lock on until .7 miles. The Redline really impressed me there. Again I did not run both detectors at the same time.
I haven't had too much of an issue with the ramp up yet. I think the issue lies more in the I/O than the C/O. X band is as smooth as my V1 and I haven't had a real K threat so I can't comment on that. Ka I can see the problem; with constant on Ka rarely comes on at just one dot it likes 2 or 3 than readjusts down to one. I can tell then with I/O it will jump ahead and thats why it sounds like you just got nailed.
All in all so far I really like the detector and have been pleased with the purchase.
