Also, the detector will not notice a signal and when a turn the corner, it'll alert me full blast- Right as the cop passes.

What happens is when in Auto mode the X/K band sensitivity is lower if your traveling under 50 mph. So when in this mode, when the 9500ix alerts it has to be a pretty strong signal so it gives you a full blast alert with really no ramp-up.

This happens at stop lights alot. If a cop is facing you with his K band radar on the Escort will give two beeps, but once you get over 20 mph it gives you a all out alert.

Thanks for the advice. In highway mode, I'm just as satisfied with sensitivity as the V1, and I really enjoy the quietness. I was in a McDonalds drive thru and it beeped twice to alert me of a cop passing by. It gave me over a mile warning of a retarded radar sign. It alerted me of cunning state trooper crouching in the thicket. I'm actually happier with this detector than the V1 because most of its alerts are real. I'm not sure why some (esp. v1 "fanatics") are so critical of it. I'll admit that I kinda miss the arrows, though.
