Probably because mine has been so quiet for so long and because all I seem to hear is V1 this and Redline that.
(not that those aren't awesome)...wouldn't mind having both of those as well.

I'll be back on the road later this fall with shields ON.
The 9500ix is an awesome well rounded unit. A better package than any V1 or Redline for people who drive in reality. Who wants all the BS falses and excessive off axis sensitivity when a quiet RD like the 9500ix will still save you.

I appreciate wanting the best and having every chance of picking up the smallest signal, but most instances its not necessary. A 9500ix will cover you for 80+ percent of the time, to upgrade to a top dog and get only another 5-10 percent is excessive IMO, which is also fine.

I had a trip i did with the top dogs and they got totally I/O pwned 5+ times. Other than i may have been more cautious with my 9500ix they did no better or worse than my 9500ix would have done.

I totally agree CJR238 . I sold my V1 in favor of 9500ix. I do mostly city/freeway driving, and the V1 falses too much in the city for my liking. The 9500ix is an excellent unit. It is just sometimes given short shrift by RD purists on ths site; sort of like automatic transmissions in sports cars are derided by manual shifting purists.

I agree, ive recently become a AR riffle enthusiast and its the same there too. Someone will always bash an AR they don't know or like, especially an AR15 vs AR10. Its quite funny the similarity's.

lol. ok i got another one.

I was driving near a speed sign i locked out and my 9500i went off full blast and alerted to "Multiple frequencies detected", so i slowed immediately because its usually silent there. Surprise surprise there was a LEO using C/O right near the speed sign.

    Good save.

Can't go wrong with a Civic Si or a 9500ix

Just be careful cause tickets at that speed can really drain your fun.
