    Default ssllllllllooooooooooooooow POS

I got my Redline back from Escort CS (repaired antenna). Seems to work OK from the short time I've had it back on the windshield short of reaction time.

QT, QT, QT? hell, this thing has some major delay with C/O.

Yesterday afternoon I turn onto the highway in town to see one of the local leo's pulled over with a customer. I drive on the main drag for three or four+ seconds and the Redline finally alerts full tilt.
I drive by and he's out of the truck talking over the details of the infraction with his customer, so nobody tell me that he I/O'ed me.

Geeesh, I just got this back from Escort and I think the leo could have shot me, gotten a tracking history on me, and went back to standby mode before the Redline would have alerted. What a POS!

This is the final straw....I'm putting the V1 back on my windsheild and not looking back

Hard to tell with just one incident. It could be he had his radar off, and you got an alert from LEO on other side of freeway.

Would agree w/OpenRoad here, I would do a few more test w/known RADAR sources and go from there and make that your final decision from there. You may need to send your Redline back into the Escort Gurus (as this I know sounds shi++y as hell for ya) and have them do their magic on it for the fix.

Now the V1 lover in me want so say "hear here" -- or is it "hear hear"? Or, "Here here"?

or, how about "you can take the v1 away from the zombie, but you can't take the zombie out of the v1 owner" or, something.

But putting away partisan politics, it'd be good if you could test it some more to get a very good sense of how it performs, comparatively under all kinds of conditions.

I know some folks run multiple detectors at once, while others say they will and surely do interfere with one another.

But what if you did something like put maximum distance between them, for instance, one up front in the usual place, and maybe one on the back parcel deck? Concealed in a kleenex box or something? [Don't count on laser alerts from there, though ;-) ].

This way, you'll know whether you can sell it with a clear conscience, let the wife use it, or, heh heh heh, whether it'd make a "thoughtful gift" for that special someone....

We all know someone who is just so deserving.

    ;-)

I just got this thing back from Escort last Friday. I sent it in basically due to the same issues.....slow reaction, and full blast 2 or 300 yard, terrible range alerts with no prior warning.

I wondered about the alert myself. Drove back by twice to confirm the radar source.

I maybe wrong (but I don't think so) but my Redline, and I'll bet most if not all others are steaming piles of sh!t when reaction time is an issue. C/O? Sure the Redline is an animal against C/O but Cobra's don't do a bad job (at least good enough for a save) against C/O.

Belscort does a great job of filtering "false" alerts. Escort's focused on this and has this feature down pat. It does such a great job, it filters out alerts to the point of not being worth powder and lead to blow it to hell.

I don't run radar detectors at the same time. It would have been worse to have the V1 chirping for those 4+ seconds (which seemed like a whole lot longer) while the Redline stayed deaf to the threat.

I can sell the Redline with a clear conscience. It just went into Escort and has come back with their little card that says everything is great with the repair that was made.

I don't want it and I'm sure my wife doesn't either. I'll be happy if I get $400 out of it even when I spent extra for the extended service warrantee.

If you think something is wrong w/the Redline (and by what your describing something very well could be) you say you will have a clear conscience to sell it? That doesn't sound very neighborly of ya.

Agreed. This is definitely a strange one. But a second officer nearby does sound very likely. It's easy to see a cop and get tunnel vision, forgetting they are pack animals. I'm no big fan of the Redline, but I sure wouldn't immediately jump to any conclusion that it did anything wrong here without knowing for sure.

Very interesting. Belscort are the ones that are selling them, not me. I just sent the d@mn thing in last week and told them that I had this problem and it came back pretty much the same way. I honestly believe that most if not all Redlines behave the same way not just this one. They simply have no fix for their "superior filtering capabilities."
Why wouldn't I have a clear conscience to sell it this way??
