Default What Issues Should I Be Concerned With In Regards To The Escort 9500ci?

    Hello Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and by know means am I an expert on radar detectors, but I'm trying to decide what's the best detector to go with? I do want a integrated system, but I also want it to be accurate and dependable. I'm currently looking at getting the 9500ci custom installed, any assistance is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Tony

Don't expect the jammers that come with the 9500CI to help a whole lot. Make sure the antenna has a clear view of the road with nothing obstructing it. That may be all you have to worry about.

    Cips,

Thanks, I've been looking at the Redline as well. I commute a lot for work and school so I'm always on the highway so I want a system that affords me some dependable early warning.

9500ci or STI R if you can find it. Longer distance/ Ka segmentation(STI R only) for no Ka Falses/ Off axis.
    LI Jammers (toss the ZR4)
V1 W/ Concealed display. Arrows and QT/IO detection

    untouchable.

As long as you use them properly anyway

I prefer the STI R to the 9500ci because of the Ka rampup on the STI R is better.

I have both the V1 and the Redline. The ONLY reason i use the redline is because i'm in VA. Redline is better for Off axis. It has maybe a 1 second win on Ka than the V1. But it performs poor on IO/QT.

Just a quick question, I looked at the definitions for QT/IO. *Humor me*

I/O is a term associated when a LEO waits until the last possible opportunity and then turns on his or her radar giving the target vehicle no advanced warning. This is done typically when the LEO knows the vehicle is speeding and therefore is less concened with warning any other vehicles down the road as they have their target in sight.

QT is a technique where a LEO may quickly trigger a radar to check the speed of an oncoming vehicle while attempting to not alert detectors that may be in vehicles further down the road. QT is basically a manual version of POP as it is controlled by a human rather than a microprocessor. QT time can range from approx .5 seconds to 1 second as each attempt may vary due to the human condition.

With that said, does the radar normally detect QT/IO signals that were initiaed by LEO on another vehicle or on my vehicle or both? Also if so, with the short response time does it really matter if the radar detects .5 to 1 second faster than the other, because wouldn't you still get zapped?

one is better than picking it up than the other.

Lets say you're driving down the highway, and there is a LEO 2 miles away using I/O. He zaps someone doing PSL real quick. Your V1 goes off 1 bogey forward, Ka, maybe 3 dots. Then it stops. You slow down because Ka is a threat (duh)

You come over a hill and your V1 goes nuts saying 1 forward, full strength. But you slowed down 2 miles ago. You're good.

Lets say you were using the Redline in the same situation. Maybe it wouldn't of picked it up, maybe it would have.

The V1 is just BETTER at detecting it than the redline.

    Edge: V1

Welcome to the forum. The redline is a great detector you are looking at.

I would also recommend a good jammer like the M27 or LI.

You can't go wrong with the Redline or V1 and the LI or Blinder combo.

    Thanks guys,

I think I am going to go ahead and get the Redline with the LI Jammers, by chance do anyone know if the LI Jammers will integrate with the Redline the same way it does with the V1?
