2009-2010 redline... is there a difference?

just wondering if there is a difference between 2009 redline models to the 2010 redline models...
i was looking on amazon and i can get it for $430-$440.. and escort has it for $499.95

PM GreenRadar he will hook you up with a deal. I would not want a Redline from that first few months they made them they had alot of issues early on.

Escort is always tweaking there RD's, but over all they are great performers from one year to the next.

i was told that the earlier ones had "over heating issues due to the glossy finish" and that the new ones are the matte finish...

The newer ones are supposed to have had that service required problem fixed.

There were some with different finishes, had noting to do with overheating. The RedLines as well as all RD's run hot.

The first batch had some units that needed tweaking.

2010= matte black?
2009= gloss black?

or was it 2010 gloss black than they changed to matte black once the problem was fixed?

Matte black should be the newest. Mine was built the last week of Dec 09 and it's matte.

after reviewing the redline and the 8500 x50... i dont see the difference between them besides the redline not being able to be detected...
im looking to save money.... and if the 8500 is the same thing than i would rather save the $200....
