Default Specific K Band Frequency Used by Cops

    Hey,

I'm trying to learn the Spec feature on my 8500x50. I've gotten annoyed by the TSR Radar in Cleveland and been trying to figure out specific bands so I can tell if it's false or not.

I have the M4 Horn, so updating it for TSR software is out of the option.

So, can anyone specifically let me know what bands I should look out for to determine if it's a Cop Vs. TSR or False?

Or at least point me in the right direction.

(It's been hard trying to search with such specific question).

    Thanks,

    Kyle

    Hello Kyle!

Well, the good news is that if your correct and your 8500 X50 has the M4 horn, you can have Escort add the TSR filtering by sending your detector in for an update. It's the S7 X50s that can't be updated.

Unfortunately, you cannot distinguish one of these sensors from real police radar based on the specific frequency displayed by your detector. Their frequency can vary (just like a mobile police radar unit) but will fall between the upper and lower frequency limits set by the FCC for K-Band (24.050 - 24.250 GHZ).

To verify which horn your X50 has look at the label.

QKL8500 on the sticker means you have the S7 horn while QKLX5M4 is the M4 horn.

Get TSR and there is no way to distinguish drones from I/O. Most drones I've seen are close to 24.150, same as most police K-band.

TSR is a life saver. While it WILL impact k-band I/O, the M4 is not that great at picking up QT to begin with, I/O you should be good however..

Here in the Houston area, TSR showes up as 24.05-24.09 ghz on my RX65. The only suggestion I have is if you drive the same route all the time, memorize where TSR sets off your RD and be on the lookout just in case a LEO is working that area.
Outside Independence Hall when the Constitutional Convention of 1787 ended, Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded, "A republic, if you can keep it."

-V1 3.872 (1.3 Mi. C/O Ka pointed away from me. 3.6 Mi. C/O K)-Bel RX65 New Backup (4.1 Mi. C/O Ka 35.494 Ghz, light traffic) -Laser Interceptor Gen-8 Dual (No saves yet ) -Bel 980. -Galaxy DX 959 with a peak and tune.
-Wilson Lil' Wil antennae. -Whistler 1585. -Whistler 1430. -Passort 3200 w/ 1000 laser detector (got stolen, bought one off ebay for nostalga).
-Cobra Trapshooter RD-31XX? (Can't remember silver/teardrop shape X, K only). -Cobra Trapshooter RD-3110 (my first RD in 1987, when Cobras were good, bought one off ebay for nostalga new in the box). -Kustom HAWK. -Kustom Falcon cordless K Band. -Kustom Talon.

Or you can upgrade your detector so you will be able to get the TSR feature. What I do is if I am going to an area that I don't know and if my detector go off I will just slow down to see if it was those sign or the real deal.
