Brand New Redline...issues!!!

So i have my speaker and hardwire kit installed by a "pro". its nice and clean. Just hooked up my Redline on Friday and it has randomly cut off by itself twice? It will turn off and then 2 sec later turn back on?!?! Has anyone else experienced this? I have also noticed my external speaker is kinda "crackely"? Not the units speaker but my external speaker? WTF!!! I never had ANY issues with my RX65 doing this?!?! Do u think its the unit or the wiring of the speaker/power supply? Please help...its not a Cobra its a $500 detector....Thanks.

Maybe a loose wire as to why it keeps shutting off. No idea on the speaker issue.

On a side note, we know it's not a cobra, the title says it is a Redline, and it is in the escort forum.

Certainly sounds like a power supply connexion issue. Sounds just like what happens when a cigarette lighter plug is loose. If they hardwired it, then it could be either the power or the ground that is unstable. Either would cause that. I'd hate to see you go a week or two without your detector, having sent it in, when a loose wire was the only problem. It's easy to knock one loose while reassembling the dash covers and such.

I agree sounds like a wiring problem, did you try plugging your REdline into the cigarette lighter plug or trying another plug in another car, that will allow you to discover the culprit.

I have thought about doing this but the issue is that it has only happend 2wice with 8 or so hrs on the unit. And i just got back to college so i dont drive my car....so until the nxt roadtrip there is really no way to test The shop said they will check the wiring tomorrow...hope its just a loose wire....

Install, but I would just use the cord that came with it to make sure that it's the install.

bad power connection. have them check your ground connection to. YOU WANT THIS ONE TO BE SECURE. you dont wanna send your radar power w/o it being properly grounded (i believe) you'll see magic smoke
