    Default Redline WeirdISM

My 2 yr old Redline did something really strange today. When I was in a shopping center no alerts were going off on the RD, this is really strange because it normally goes berserk w/K band in this area (i initially had X band off). I then turned X band on and rebooted, still nothing. Rebooted a 3rd time and then nothing. I never have gotten (so far) the dreaded "service required" message. I thought this is really Effin Weird so I turned my V1 on and as expected got about 6 RADAR sources (X and K) w/the normal all arrows lit up going crazy.

I then rebooted my Redline one more time and drove back to the house. On my way home I passed by a normal K band RADAR source and the Redline starting chirping as usual. I was thinking huh? I then drove by another shopping center that I know is full of RADAR sources and it lit up like a Christmas tree. I'm trying to figure our what the heck happened and am still a little puzzled. Anybody experienced this phenomenon?

The only thing I did different on the last reboot of the Redline was I unplugged it from the lighter socket instead of just turning the unit off from the On/Off switch (maybe that made a difference, not sure)

I know the Redline takes about 10 seconds once you turn it on before it starts alerting to a radar source.

Agree w/ya, I did wait approx 30-45 seconds between reboots, that's what still has me puzzled w/the Redline not alerting.

Agree w/ya, I think I will wait maybe longer than a min next reboot before expecting anything. It was a really weird experience because before I got to the Shopping ctr the Redline was on approx 15 mins or so. Thats a 1st for my redline in the affected area, and so far it hasn't duplicated the same way. Maybe the hard Reboot is what did the trick. I will keep my fingers crossed.

    Thanks Guys.

Maybe the shopping center upgraded to lidar-based door sensors.

I would think a reboot would require power be removed. I've had experiences with my computer that a reboot didn't solve, so I'd power down and disconnect the power cord for 5 minutes and start it back up without a hitch. And in fact I think it may have been start up issues - blue screen of death perhaps? That was on a different computer than I'm using now. Anyways, when in doubt I'd say remove the power source.

You might be on to something here, yes my Redline does share pwr w/my scanner via a 3 plug lighter plug adapter. I just really struck me weird because I've been running it this way for quite a while now.
