I watched 2/3 of the video! Very thorough explanation! Good job. I had no idea how annoying the traffic sensors are.
Welcome to my friggen world of the 101 freeway in Ventura, day in and day out..... I was forced to upgrade...
Yeah. it WAS BRUTAL.
Then I got a lidar ticket with the 9500ix on the way back to the airport. Sheez!![]()

Yes, indeed. 84 in a 65. No breaks. Didn't ask for one, didn't get one.
Must have been an LTI. Those guns are hard[er] to detect. With my big caddy (and no Veil on my rental) I didn't stand a chance. By the time I saw 'em it was too late. Can't really complain though, I had a great time up at Solvang and wine country (got a couple of cases of Pinot)!

VG have you ever been pulled over and the officer recognize you as the VG?
LOL. Naw. I wear sunglasses at night and hide under my Stetson.![]()
I did once get a serious break though from an officer after I told him who I was. I had passed right on by him while I was on the cell phone and in a non-active construction zone.
He could of really nailed me, I suppose, but was instead very very cool and let me slide big time.

Very interesting how to tested. I once ran a Whistler and the drones just got me, and I had to upgrade to something with TSR. Now this would not be as annoying but most of the local LEOs almost only use k-band, but most are lazy and only use C/O thankfully. This means you can not simply turn off k-band, which most of us wouldn't, but people like me do get desperate when we get annoyed.
Also interesting you found a place that had one dedicated drone per side of the highway. Usually, most places just have one antenna measure both directions of travel in the same blast.
This is my home territory, and believe me, its about as annoying as it gets. Hence why I was FORCED to get a Redline first because of TSR. Most of my trips wander through drone areas, and if I start to ignore my V1, whats the point!? Yes, yes there is programming the V1, but in an area where K-Band is rampant, is that a good idea?
Very interesting piece, thanks for sharing.
Nice video, in the Milwaukee area they have a different kind of drone or monitor of some sort on I-94 around all the construction areas. They are the G4 RTMS sensors and don't pop off in 30 sec intervals, they just stay on all the time. This makes the TSR mode useless but does make the gps priceless. Any radar detector that doesn't have the gps function on it will just constantly blast k band for up to 5 miles in one area of I-94. I hate using my v1 around Milwaukee.
This shows a perfect example of how it works here http://www.imagesensingca.com/en/Sol...6/Default.aspx Notice how the drones just stay on all the time and are spaced apart.
