Question No sound in my 9500ix

Well, it all began one day when I thought "I never use that jack on the side of my ix, what should i do". I glance at the AUX on my vehicle radio and plug it in. After that, no sound. If you crank the radio, you can hear some sound (nothing you can recognize) every time there would be a normal sound (such as a beep, etc.) But there is absolutely nothing you can recognize, nor is there anything going to the IX's speaker itself. I am moderate-advanced with circuitry. In you opinion, do you think it is a bad 3.5mm jack on the ix, causing the sound to not return to the speaker, or do you think it is a blown circuit on the board? This is really irritating. I have taken it apart, but not fully inspected the 3.5mm jack. I have checked the speaker, however, and it appears to be in working order.

    Thanks in advance,
    Chris

EDIT: I have officially checked the speaker, and it is in working order. Any suggestions to troubleshooting the 3.5mm jack?

It's a MONO jack on the 9500iX, not a stereo jack. You may have shorted out the audio amplifier IC in the iX and blown it.

Well, i found out (from a Escort rep) that ANY self-powered speaker you plug the detector into has an extremely high chance of blowing the circuit. That was my mistake, now I am paying $69.95 for a repair.
