    Default Redline vs. STi?

I thought I would post this here as well as the Bel section for those who do not read the other thread.

I recently decided to purchase a Redline since it's the latest and greatest from Belscort and it was what I thought would be an upgrade. Not so sure after testing both. 35.5 ka the Redline seems slightly better than my STi, but nothing significant. My STi's K band detection seems much better in comparison of the two, especially with off axis K band (auto door openers as the source). The Redline seemed alarmingly quiet on K band many times when the STi was alerting strongly. I'm within the 30 days and wondering if I should return the Redline and keep my STi. Thoughts?

Were you operating them both in Highway mode? In "Auto" mode they will try to suppress alerts from door openers.

The RedLine should outperform the STi Driver on all radar bands by a noticeable margin.

When I first got my Redline, it didn't perform as well as I expected on K (according to familiar false sources). After about a month, I noticed an increase in performance on K.

Mine seemed to have a break in period, because after a month, it balls k band, especially off axis!

Both in highway, all bands on, SWS off, TSR off.

Interesting. Keep an eye on the RedLine and if you continue to see unimpressive performance from it then call us to set up servicing it. You may have a very hot STi but I would still think that the RedLine should outperform it.

I did some extensive 35.5 ka and k band testing with my STi and V1. The STi was on par with my V1 on k band which always suprised me. On 35.5 the V1 was much better. I had something weird happen this morning as well while driving to work. I got a 35.5 ka hit from a LEO that had stopped someone on the median. Radar was facing forward, but I only got a 40 yard alert time despite lots of the huge green road signs that should have reflected the signal.

The Redline, as it often does, was probably taking a snooze ie. showing you its incredible filtering capabilities to the signal to make sure whether or not it was a false signal. Darn good thing you weren't the one being sampled.

Here recently My RL seems to be outperforming my V1 about 50 percent of the time, maybe by a smidgen.

On or off-axis? On-axis, the V1 will hang with the STi on 35.5 Ka. It is with off-axis 35.5 where the STi and RL will dominate the V1.

Definitely on-axis. I was able to find a K band speed sign last night to do some testing. My particular RL and STi are equal in off axis detection. I only found one KA source that wasn't reliable testing, but the RL seems to perform slightly better in off axis detection of 35.5 ka. Not be much though.
