    Default Redline quality control

Just got my new redline and the internal speaker doesn't work. Now I guess I will have to pay shipping and wait another week for a new detector. This should not happen when spending $500 for a new detector. Why not test it before it is shipped?

You do not necessarily need to pay return shipping. Demand that Escort provide you with a pre-paid shipping label. This is often done in cases like yours where the detector is faulty out of the box.

You can also PM EscortRadar on this forum and tell him the circumstances and he may well provide you with the return shipping.

I'm sorry to hear about this. If you purchased the RedLine from us then we will replace the RedLine and pay for the shipping both ways. That is our normal policy on recent purchases, you shouldn't need to demand it.

Thats to bad. I just bought a sti-r plus yesterday and installed it and it doesn't pick-up radar. If they would send out a 1300.00 detector without testing than it pretty much says it all. Good luck with yours

They sent a paid return label via email, and sent a new one out. Stinks because it hits my credit card twice and will be a couple weeks before credit back. I bought a new 9500ix, not directly from escort, and had to pay shipping to get an antenna problem serviced. Gives me pause that 2 for2 detectors had problems on arrival. Maybe I just have bad luck.

The sti-r is the first escort product I have ever bought. If quality control doesn't get a handle on things,, it will be the last. And that really suck because I was looking forward to my sti-r plus. But when it shows up directly from escort doa , it kinda leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I have been running detectors for 13 years now and never had a problem once with the three I have owned. Three v1 detectors. We all complain about the lady that answers the phone over at v1 , but you really don't need customer service if you never have problems with your product. Simple as that. I guess no choice here "V1 for life"

Your STi-R+ DOES PICK UP RADAR. You FAILED to activate that function using Detector Tools as required. You've had plenty of time to come back to this erroneous post and make it right.
