That bit about the iphone 4s is very interesting because I have one of those. I havent sent the unit in because I was travelling a lot over the holidays. I will perform a test with and without the phone and let you know.

Yea, it took me a while to figure it out. I think it is the phone because I got a redline with a bad speaker i tried out briefly and remember it falsing X in the drive way before I put it back in the box to send back for the one I have now. Wish I would of checked the freq to see if it is the same as I get now. Anyway, it doesn't happen very often now that I moved my radar detector from the top of my windshield where it was right above the phone to lower on the windshield away from the phone by about 12". Now I think it falsed one time in the last week which I can live with. Love the redline and my phone so I would hate to part with either one. Luckily it doesn't set off my 9500ix at all. The freq I get is X-Band 10.520MHz. I am curious if yours is around this range. to test it I jumped off my wifi and onto the 3g and started streaming music to make sure it was using the cell transmitter. Then moved the phone around the detector. It will not always do it, I think it has to do with certain frequencies it will select between the cell tower, but if you play with it, you will get it to consistently set the detector as the phone is in proximity. Also Im not sure if you pay attention, but the falses I always get are at the same freq 10.520 +- 3MHz
I'll check the frequency and by the way, my Redline is also above the iPhone at the top of my windshield...Escort I hope you are paying attention to this. Now if my turns out not to be the source then I absolutely will send the unit in but first I will check that freq with the phone in its usual position.
Well Escort the ball is now in your court because my test with the iPhone 4s came up with the exact results observed by Hostile1313. I need to use xband and I need to use my iPhone. Great job identifying this Hostile! Escort what can we do?
+1 interested in the results and response from Escort.
Might be a cdma cellphone looking for a signal, or switching towers
I had a Sprint cdma phone that would cause x blips all the time.
Switched over to another carrier with GSM/4G no problems.
