I just ordered the redline with the live service....I can't wait to get the redline, but unfortunately the live app isn't compatible with the Droid Incredible 2 or that's what the Market says...Is there any way to get around this??? Can i side load the app and install it that way??? This is the only downside to Android and I hope I can install the Live app or I'm going to be upset.

The only good use of Escort Live! is to eliminate false alerts (That's the only way I use it anyway) If I go on the highway, I don't even plug it in as my car is pretty high tech and my iPhone doesn't like to run 2 Bluetooth connection at the same time.

My very initial review after having used Live for a couple of days with my Redline is that it is very, very cool.

The ability to lock out falses and gain Red Light Camera alerts on a Redline is cool enough. Alert frequencies are displayed on screen, so now I can run my Redline in Expert mode exclusively instead of always switching back and forth between Expert and Spec mode.

I like being able to charge my phone directly from the SmartCord too (my phone charged up from 90% to 100% and held the full charge over a three hour drive today with the screen on the whole time, which surprised me).

I have not received any Ka nor user alerts yet, but I did mark one CHP today. Pretty cool. I have already locked out a number of K falses, one of which is a speed sign near my place that the Redline picks up for 4 miles.

Contrary to some of the posts I have read so far on this and the official Escort forum ... I think this app is very polished and detector integration is pretty good. All it needs is a robust user community. It would be nice to see Escort include Live with every detector they sell ... that would boost the user base in a hurry.

It's definitely a good idea, and if there were a lot of users, it would be much better. But before we even get to that, I think they need to fix the interface. Everytime I get a call, the app goes away, and I have to fidget around to get it back to the live screen. While driving, this is not what I want to be doing.

Just got a Redline + Escort Live. I have to agree that the User Interface is definitely still BETA, but it's useable. I hope Escort will be open to suggestions/improvements.

Edit to add: I use it on Android, and it works like a charm (stability wise). It can stay in the background while I have Pandora playing, or Google Navigation running, without any problems. I wish there were a quicker way to get back in the app (than pulling down the "window shade"), so I can mark live CHP, or common Speed traps before I pass them, but I'm not sure how that could be implemented.

You can report alerts, lock out false alerts, and mark cop spotted using SmartCord Live. Push the Report Button on SmartCord Live while receiving the alert to report it to other Escort Live users. To lock out a false alert, press the SmartCord Live Mute Button three times while receiving the alert. To report a "cop spotted" while NOT receiving an alert, simply press the Report Button on SmartCord Live.

Escort Live is compatible with the Droid Incredible 2. Is your Android operating system v2.2 or higher?

I just upgraded to an iPhone 4s from my iPhone 4, and the performance difference is huge. The App loads much faster, and you can zoom/browse the map without any lag. The traffic mode still lags a little bit, but the regular map is near instant with the iPhone 4s - definitely a good upgrade. I have gotten a few crashes out of nowhere, though.

Also - today I picked up my first real laser alert! LEO was in the side of the turnpike shooting laser at coming cars. My redline went off 3 times, I think I was the 2nd or 3rd, and thankfully I was going the speed limit anyway so it did not matter. It came out really quick, basically when I saw the LEO I got the alert - so I'm not sure if I was speeding I would have gotten it in time, even if the drivers in front of me got it first.

Anyway, awesome to see it going off and seeing it in action! I've always seen KA mainly, so laser is neat - and dangerously quick.

I have an issue still trying to understand. I have the redline and escort live, hooked it up in the house and all comunicates. So, yesterday I put it in the car and all comunicated. As I left the driveway I noticed no speed reading but had map with plot, then got about 300 yards from the house and lost comms between the phone and the escort live. I backed out of escort live on my phone and attempted to re enter escort live and came up with the log in screen afyer a dozen try the come up nothing worked. Although my phone said I was paired to the live I am sure I was not (as it said I was paired to my nav unit which is in a completly different car. Today I will try to bluetooth again. I was very disapointed with live, the redline was awasome. Any idears why the system works only around my house?

That is strange. Uninstalling and re-installing the app may help. If not then while you are in your car with your RedLine, SmartCord Live and Escort Live running please call our service department at the number in my signature below.
