Default Just got a ticket with my redline

Well I was going down a mountain road, although it was pretty straight for the most part, and I was going about 80 in a 55, and all of a sudden I see a cop driving by the in the other direction, and my redline goes off right after I see him, he makes a quick uturn and I end up with a ticket for 79 in a 55.

I guess my question is, is this a common problem? I used to have an stir plus, but after running it and my redline side by side, I sold it, because I thought the redline worked almost as well as it.

The cop couldve been using IO, but I dont think so, because after I pulled over, ka band was still going off, although to be honest I dont exactly understand how IO works.

Sorry to hear about the that. I think the cop used instant on to acquire your speed, saw that you were over the psl, and left the radar on in order to be able to show you your speed on the radar read out if you inquired. All IO is is when a officer selectively chooses to turn on the radar to acquire a targets speed and then shut it off quickly afterwards. My Sti Magnum has a harder time, it seems, with IO than my V1 w/ KA guard off (which has yet to miss a IO burst). Maybe when the redline comes out with RDR/BS it will perform just as well if not better then the V1 in that type of scenario.

I purchased it just a couple weeks ago, so I will deffently give it another 2 weeks at least, and I guess there where no cars in front of me, so I probably been more aware of my surroundings, but I guess its just disappointing since I had my Stir Plus for about 5 months, and after nearly 40,000 miles of driving with it, and it never failed me.

I got rid of my Radar detector quickly, so the cop was at least nice enough to ticket me for 65, but I guess it is just really disappointing because I sold my Stir Plus for 800, and this cost 550, and the ticket is going to be close to 200 with traffic school.

Yep I am usually more aware of these things, but I guess it was on a road I had only drove once before, and I had just got off a 15 percent grade downhill. I will pay the fine and keep the detector I guess, I just need to be smarter about my speed when there is no one in front of me.

Keep it within 8-10 over on roads you don't know. Especially if you are alone. I've got 125,000 miles on my Redline in 1 1/4 years, so far so good.

That is how Leo use radar if not running instant-on. If your description is correct that you saw him and then the Redline went off you had a chance to adjust your speed. A V1 would have alerted sooner of instant-on than the Redline. That's why it's called "sleeping beauty" and not the choice to run along with the V1.

I/o is one thing you will never beat. That's why if there's no traffic in front of you and there's blind curves or a spot where Leo can hide with I/o beware. Now you understand the art of rd

Unfortantly my redline went off right after I passed by him, so I didnt even get a chance to adjust my speed.

Almost got another ticket today. I was on a road I drive multiple times a day, speed limit is 55, I was going somewhere between 65 and 70, I go arround a corner and next thing you know, there is a cop in the other lane, and then my redline goes off, and there were multiple cars in front of me. The cop made a uturn, and lucky for me, some guy made a left turn into my lane, when there was a sign that says no left, and it was in road construction. The cop pulled him over instead, so I guess I am very lucky.

Im thinking im going to return my redline, because its only use is on the freeway right now. Does valentine one have a simular 30 day no risk trial period? If so I will probably give that a try.
