Now that my STi has been confiscated by the OPP, I am looking for a replacement. I am thinking of the Redline because of the Escort Live feature. I called Escort and they did not volunteer any numbers for subscriptions in Ontario. Please let me know if you feel that there are enough customers to make it work the extra $. If you can categorize that you drive in GTA, SW, or Northern, it will also help. Thanks, in advance.

Ouch, that sucks that your STi was confiscated. How did you get caught with it, and is it not like 3 demerit points now as offence and like a $300 fine assuming the OPP didn'y actually charge you with speeding as well? If I had my STi confiscated I'd really think twice about getting another RDD for at least the 3 years till my driver abstract was clear again.

Wow that sucks. Did you have it in plain view or stand on the brakes? As for live in Ontario not worth it & too much of a risk to have the live power plug going to the RD.

My opinion : not worth , after trying Live in the spring ---400 miles trip thru NYS ---not a
single alert , plus if you dont have a generous data plan -it will kill your wallet .

Better invest in laser cms if you dont have already .

You will only receive camera alerts, "police spotted" and "mobile camera" live alerts but you will be able to see how many are in your area. I bet that there are several. For $4.99 you can try the full featured app for a month. You can subscribe in the app.

Data usage is on average about 1MB/hour which isn't bad at all. The more alerts in the area the more data is used but that is a generous number. Note that to limit data usage you will only see alerts on the map in a 25 mile radius from your location.

Live has saved me from speed cameras in VA as well as alerting me to the presence of multiple officers thru other users encounters. I was one of the early adopters. Coming up on a year since I've purchased it. Users are growing too. I don't think I've been thru a single state with Live where I have not gotten an alert from another user. The product is growing. To me, it is worth the peace of mind. I love it.

I've been up and down the east coast several times, and from Wisconsin to Cali. Live has been an excellent addition to my countermeasures. I can only hope my encounters have helped save others.

Would it be possible to hardwire the STI using the escort live direct wire. Put the STI in a water proof case behind the grille and use the Bluetooth function to your phone? A poor mans STI-R with escort live?

How did you loose your STI? I have to admit I'm not overly careful concealing mine other then tinted windows and hard wired.

It is surely possible , but be aware that in the long term you could corrode the inside due
to condensation if you live in winter belt . If you decide to do so , check periodically to avoid
bad surprise , at least every 2 months.
