Unfortunately some LEO's here still use K-band so I can't just shut it off. I purchased Escort Live so that I could lock out these false alerts and hopefully have the best of both worlds. (Yes, I know about the Sti-R but I need a detector for multiple vehicles)
Initially I thought this locking out would happen automatically (the same as Autolearn on the 9500ix) but after it didn't happen and I did some more reading, I see that Autolearn is not a feature of Escort Live. Though I don't see why not, obviously any modern smart phone would have the processing power to handle this task. No problem though, I can manually lock out the false signals.
My main concern however is how exactly Trulock works on Escort Live.
1) Is it the same way as the 9500ix, that is to say it divides the K band into 30Mhz blocks and only locks out that block?
2) What is the radius of the area locked out? (Interested in the radius for Escort Live, but I couldn't find that info for the 9500ix either)
I don't see why it should be bigger than 300-400 meters, anything beyond that and you could definitely run into trouble with having a LEO and a locked out alert in the same area. They should really add in a couple more settings options such as setting your own radius for alerts that are locked out and a way to review locked out spots. This would be easy to do on a smartphone screen, the data is already stored in there too.
Thanks in advance for any help!
