money for money which is better 8500 (non-X50) or Bel 995??

I have owned the Non-X50 8500 and V1 and need another radar detector again and i saw in a ad for a brand new Bel 995 for $145 and a used 8500 for $125. which is better?

All I can say is that i'd check out the 995 really thoroughly, that price is way too good to be true. It's likely one of the seconds units that are shipped down around the Mexican border to be sold below wholesale.

That being said, the detectors should be about even. The 995 might be a little better on K, and has POP detection, but otherwise, they're quite similar.

I still might just pick up the 8500 due to its rep. and it can show several bogies at 1 time. the bel can not show multi-threats.

Yeah, I do like the Escort multi-threat, plus I think that the Escort tones would be a lot less annoying that those of the Bel. That's been one of my only complaints with my RX65 was the tones. Let's just say that the mute button is of EXTREMELY good quality on a RX65, because mine is still holding up, and it gets a workout!
