It simply is at the top of the coolness-factor scale for radar detectors.

Here's another use I saw mentioned before: there have been a few people who have had their detector "freeze" up for some reason. If you run the unit with the scanning dot, you'll know that it is active and working...

If you have it up bright enough, you might be able to use it in conjunction with your brake lights to cause the bunghole tailgating you to have an epileptic seizure.
