New members: What RD do you currently use?

Hi everyone,

I decided to come up with a poll just for our new forum members since I thought that it would be interesting to see what, if any, radar detectors our new forum members presently use.

Even more interesting would be to hear from new forum members about why they purchased the current radar detector which they use, and how long they have been using it. You know, stuff like "it was the price" or "it was the advertising on the box" or "it was on the display shelf", et cetera. I figured that this thread would generate some nice discussion too.

8500 X50, had read up a lot on it previously and the reviews sold me overall. Also, this forum was a great resource when I was first looking at which one to buy! Went to Best Buy to purchase originally, was the best one there within my price range otherwise I might of stepped up to a different Escort. Been using for roughly a year to a year and a half.

Thats interesting. You obviously did your homework before buying it. Before buying your X50, did you previously use a radar detector?

As far back as I can remember my Dad had a Escort 7500, used briefly once I got my license a few years ago and could not stand all the falses. The X50 is much quieter.

Right now a 9500 ix and a xtr-695, but I see a v1 in my very near future.

Got my 9500ix for Xmas. Gave the wife my x50. Will probably get another IX soon for her(she likes how quiet it is).
