Welcome. Antilaser put behind grill, but close to licenceplate.
This is where I'd put everything.
This is bad advice. No laser jammer operates properly behind a car grille. The laser jammer sensors must have a clear look at the road ahead. You're either going to have to cut the grille, or mount the sensors in front of the grille. BEHIND THE GRILLE WILL NOT WORK!!!!
The same goes for the STi-R radar antenna. If you mount it behind the grille, performance could be poor. I have the 9500ci, which has the same radar antenna. I originally mounted it behind the grill and performance was awful. My X band and K band performance was still good behind the grille, but my 34.7Ka performance was spotty, sometimes good, sometimes bad and my 35.5Ka performance was horribly bad all the time. I then cut a hole in the grille and mounted the antenna in the grille itself with a clear look at the road and performance jumped through the roof. If you mount it behind the grille, you are taking your chances, big time.
Why not mount the radar antenna on your visor?
Most people that buy a remote mounted RD do so for stealth reasons. Having a remote antenna mounted on your visor defeats that whole purpose. I also like the fact that I can run one RD in my grille and the other in the cabin to compare performance. I run my 9500ci and my V1 together most of the time and they compliment each other quite well.
I agree with djrams80's location for the heads... but you might have to cut the grill![]()
Ditto that^ but I'm sure DJ was suggesting cutting the grill since he did his for both systems.
Also, my opinion on remote RD antennas is, if you can't or don't want to mount them high and center go ahead and mount as low as possible so the antenna can sniff out signals under the vehicles in front of you.

Hi.
I have received my order.
In Europe we have the best results with STI-r if is mounted vertical.
ALG9 almost get thru mesh grill hole & it has clear view to the street.
From that reason I think to put it behind the mesh grill under registration
plate.
What do you think about that ???
Regards.
I recall that the ALG9 has a pretty small head. That just might work, putting it behind the grille.
Those grille slats are pretty thick (front to back, not width). This will greatly interfere with the STi-R's radar reception by causing wavefront distortion. You will have to cut the grille so that the STi-R's antenna will have a clear view of the road. I understand the reason why you need to mount the STi-R's antenna vertical. If radars are normally encountered along the right side of the road, then vertically mount the STi-R's antenna with the serial number sticker facing the left side of the road. Obviously, do the opposite if radars normally are on the left side of the road.
