I am a new mwmber and new to radar detectors is general. I am trying to decide between the Escort 9500ci and a BEL STI-R with the Blinder M-45. Any suggestions?

what car do you drive? a nsx? the 9500ci is $1600 big ones as you no plus install and already comes with the zr4 laser jammers but rele they do not preform that well....the STi-R is so sensitive like the 9500ci that is cannot have the GPS lockout of false alerts so it tends to drive people crazy...it seems like u have an unlimited budget so I would go with the Laser Interceptor laser jammers with a 9500ix or Valentine 1...unless your from VA or canada were u need the stealth protection of the 9500ci, STi, or STi-R....

take a look at this test regarding laser jammers

This radar detector is going into a BMW 650i convertible. I sold the NSX. Are the Laser Interceptor jammers as reliable as the Blinder's? I have read that was a drawback to the Laser Interceptor. Thanks for your help!

the LI's are very reliable....the rep for the USA, Cliff, is on here all the time and the customer service is great along with the performance...worth the extra cash imo

Did the guys of Lidar test the High Powered (HP) or regular heads? Should I put one on the rear of the vehicle or is this overkill?

The Laser Interceptors appear to have solved their reliability issues. A regular LI should work fine for your vehicle. The HP is really for semi's, we shot just1ns new Tahoe or Yukon or whatever that was with the two head setup and it Jammed To Gun in both distance shooting and ambush shooting. If you want any rear protection you may want to use a four head system so you have two heads in back.
