Default Hi all! New 9500ci owner with a Honda DC5 type S from Australia

    Hi guys,

I chanced across this board after making a lot of mistakes in research and purchasing of detection equipment.

I just bought myself one of these detectors after hearing so much praise about them.

Really hope to be able to learn more about this expensive device from you experts.

    Welcome javidan,

I hope your mistakes weren't too costly.

Have you installed your setup yet?

Keep us informed on how it all goes.

    Hi carrots,

Unfortunately, I guess I have myself to blame for my timely and costly mistakes since my original research online was done on retail websites rather than enthusiast forums. [The difference in the quality information provided between a salesman and a dedicated enthusiast is astounding.]

Yeah, I've just added it to my car but I don't drive often enough to get used to the system.

    Thanks for the welcome.

The LI or LPP would serve you well to cover the DC5... I can send you pics of my install on my DC5 if you want...

    Thanks guys!

    Speed-Dream:
I was doing some reading up about the LI and LPP.
Based on what I've read thus far, I understand that LPP manufacturers have gone out of business and the LI tends to leak?

Would love to see your install if it's not too much of a trouble for you.

Anyway, I will have a hell lot of trouble with lasers. My car is white and I groom it like mad. So it's basically a mirror in the day, shiny and reflective.

    I'm so dead.

Leak? Leak what? LI doesn't leak anything. It is the best jammer available.

    I will attempt to translate.

I get the feeling he has read something somewhere about the old jammer heads taking in water ie: leaking.

Please correct me if I'm wrong javidan.

    My apologies snoopy,

    I wasn't clear.
I understand that it tends to have water leaking into it. [i.e. Not very weather proof unlike the Z4 which comes with the Escort 9500 CI]
