Original, meaning non-x50 models. So an x50 really isn't that old. However, it's definitely time for a tune-up. Send that thing in and let them check under the hood for you.

What kind of car are you driving? Sometimes it is your car that causes laser falsing. GPS screens will sometimes cause it.
