Howdy, y'all!
I have become interested in getting my first detector after getting my first ticket. Looking back, a detector and little more situational awareness would have "saved" me from a 81 in a 70.

I got a speeding ticket 4 years ago right AFTER I started using RDs, true, that was an S2 but still more than nothing, so, you're a dreamer thinking that just an RD, a very good RD, will prevent you from being pulled over for speeding, the more you drive while using your RD the faster you will learn how to avoid this type of sticky situations, so EDUCATE yourself as much as possible, learn about Instant-On (I/O) and LASER and what tactics cops are using to get our hard-earned money!
Welcome aboard!
Yeah, a RD isn't a magic bullet, but as much and as fast as I drive, a RD would be worth it. I don't want HPD or the state getting any extra money from me.
Congratulations on your decision to fight back! That's what we're here for. You're lucky to be in Houston, where we have a very active countermeasures community, full of people who know what's what, and can help you out. Check the Laser Jammer section, where we have a thread about the upcoming laser jammer test meet next month. You will definitely want to be there.
Good luck, and welcome!
You have found a group of people who think the same way as you.
This makes me happy already.
I came across this forum after trying to search for what radar and laser HPD use.
Welcome to the Forum
What part of Houston are you from? If you want to speed in Houston, you will need a radar detector and a laser jammer.
I'm from the Clear Lake area, but I live near the Med Center during the school year. With several trips in between the two and weekend trips up to Lake Livingston and CS, I figure it is the right time to equip myself accordingly.
Right now, I am thinking about saving up for the Valentine One with the Laser Interceptor. I drive a rather large vehicle that is quite boxy, as y'all can see in the photo, so I'm not sure about which LI model to get.
