Thanks, I'm pretty picky about what I count as a save and what I don't count. 15 or more over PSL is considered a save in my book. Good luck with your 9500ci. It is a great radar detector. I would upgrade the jammers though to either Bliner or LI. That is what I did.

The CI isn't a good way to go in Floridia. Too much instant on there, which is a real problem for the Escorts. Not to mention the whole bit about getting stuck with an absolutely useless "shifter". And no, you can't bridge the gap between a shifter and a real jammer with Veil. That's asking way too much.

I realise that, if you live in the city, false alerts may be a concern. However, when you silence them like Escort does, you throw out the baby with the bathwater and end up with seriously compromised protection. Given that, there really is no benefit to the 9500ci that is worth the risk you take with it. I'd look at a different detector, unless quietness is your one and only concern.

So are you suggesting using a V1 or something else?

The V1 is really the only other choice for high-end protection until Escort gets their act together. And for situational awareness, it's the only choice period.
