Well I'm guessing you were very close to the officer therefore the laser beam was very thin and the v1 didn't pick it up. The solution: laser jammers.

X2 most radar detectors don’t pick up laser too well. Got to have a jammer.

You have to buy a laser jammer if you want protection from police laser. What vehicle do you drive?

What was the distance he acquired your speed at? V1's don't miss too many laser shots even if it doesn't give you advanced warning.

Welcome to the forum and sorry about your encounter. In your reading and real world experience Laser,Vascar ,Pacing are all threats that a radar detector will not fair well against. Be observant, use a rabbit, and be smart the V1 will help a bunch but if you are depending on it for total immunity to speeding threats you will be sadly dissapointed.

A new member here but been a V1 user for couple of years.

Laser is deadly...seems like CHPs are starting to use more of it lately around my town. The 2 laser encounters I've encountered....about 3-5 seconds warning--by the time i try to find the CHP--already to the side! That one time...A CHP at night with headlights off on downhill curve. The V1 alerted 3 times. So yes if I were just a little heavy-footed, wouldn't have stand a chance! The alert is pretty much confirmation that the LEO got your speed.

Maybe one day laser jammer would be legal in California...that would be nice.

You do know that speeding is illegal in California too, right? Is that stopping you?
