Ha...Again, I don't pretend to know everything for sure. I did see some POS Rocky Mtn. stuff and laughed every time. But, I did test the front and back dual sensor models several times and had no problem getting a lock. I don't doubt that there are working systems out there, but I never saw them. BTW, my LE experience was in CA and Colorado. TN is a stopover in my new career. Peace and respect to you all!

I just wanted to say hello to everyone! I am certified in the use of radar and lidar speed measurement and have some experience in the traffic enforcement field. I have been a city police officer and a deputy sheriff. I even pulled an 18 month tour as a small town chief of police...With all that said...BIG DEAL!!! Now, I work a 9-5 job in an entirely different field and I am loving it...I am on my second V1 and I just ordered Veil for my lights, plates, and chrome. I still own a K band radar gun but had to leave the lidar back in my old line of work. Darn it! I will not pretend to be a "know everthing ex-cop" here but I can probably help a few folks out. There are a few myths on the Internet about LEO's that I can probably expell also. Most cops are just doing their job. The job you and I pay them to do. The best way to keep out of their way is to stay within a reasonable distance of the laws that we pay them to enforce. Don't like the laws? Help change them. Because I have seen the devistating and lifelong hurt that reckless driving often brings, I normally stay within about 5 miles over the posted speed limit and I observe most safely based, common sense laws. With that said, I love to know what's going on around me so I use detection devices as a hobby.

Enough about me...Any former/retired LEO's out there?

Your unstated assumption (which seems to be shared by most LEOs) is that exceeding the speed posted on a sign is somehow "reckless." I wonder how long it will take before the "speed kills" brainwashing that all LEOs seem to receive as part of their training will start to wear off?

In any case, you made a wise choice in coming here. We'll be happy to de-program you and make you a logical thinker again.

I too strongly disagree that exceeding an arbitrary speed limit is "reckless" in and of itself. Just look at my autobahn videos (not that I was speeding, but it was double almost any US speedlimits).
