Fiero Owner here

Hello from a tiny Fiero owner. Main car is under construction. When it's finished it would be nice to make it as close to invisible as possible. So any suggestions or ideas would be great. Sure in TX they require front plates. They've also made the new plates 100% flat couldn't be for LIDAR could it? Best thing about this little car is the front has nearly no vertical surfaces at all. Protecting the front should be a breeze it's the back I'm worried about. Rear lights go all the way across and the back glass is vertical as well.
So lend a guy a hand help me protect myself. Just settled for differed on a 73 in 60 on I30 E.B. east of 820E running LIDAR.

Welcome to the forum. There are a tone of forum members in the DFW area. The best laser jammer systems are Blinder and Laser Interceptor. As for radar detectors, I recommend either the V1 or a Whistler SE series RD if you don't want to send $400 on the V1. TX DPS uses Quick-Trigger Ka 34.7 so you need a radar detector that is good against QT.

Didn't Fiero's have a catching on fire and burning to a crisp problem? I'd keep all your stuff portable.

Aren't Fiero bodies made of plastic, or fiberglass, or something? They should have a small radar (and lidar) signature. Their low profile helps too. It should be a piece of cake to stealth.

A good RD like the V1 plus a jammer should do you good. The LI is the top dog of jammers, but on a Fiero the Blinder M27 should be more than adequate. Even the Escort ZR4 would work well on that car.

The 84 Models were built with a 4cylinder "Iron Duke" 2.5l engine. It only had a 3qt oil pan. By the time the dipstick indicated LOW you were already down to 2 qts of oil. Next thing to happen is the wrist pins lock down snapping the rods throwing the free end through the block directly over the catalytic converter. OIL plus CAT = FIRE at Firewall. Some member on here spread nice misinformation by saying the buick V6 was at fault but it isn't. and it wasn't a buick V6. it was a 2.8l Chev/Pont V6 also seen in the S-10, Grand am, Comaro etc.

On my car the Roof line is shorter by 3" than stock lowered Suspension 1.5" from stock, and sporting a nice 3.8l Supercharged V-6 Custom LED tails etc. May check into adding a single line of IR LED's across the middle of the tails when I build them, if I can figure out which are best for jamming. If I use the Blinder 4... I will look into interfacing them into the rear units for a little bit of OVERKILL on the back of the car since it has the most Vertical surfaces. Those rear facing surfaces include a 10" x 54" back window, a 5" x 59" set of tail lights with a 30º upward deflection and the LP.
