    Default Hi from Delaware

Hey. So I recently got a ticket for going 95 in a 45 which kinda sucked. It was at 7am on a Saturday morning on a straight road with absolutely no cars in front of me. The cop didn't knock it down at all so now I have to go to court to get it reduced( 50mph over). Its been a real pain in the ass and what I regret the most was not having a radar detector. So now I'm here, researching and trying to find a radar detector that will help to prevent this from happening again. I'm torn between the Bel STi and a Valentine 1 right now so any input would be great. Thanks.

Welcome Aboard! Any reason why the Bel? Delaware doesn't have a detector ban.

Not particularly. From what I've read it seems like a good RD and the undetectability is just an added bonus. I'm open to any suggestions though.

Yeah, it's a great detector and if you travel through VA it will be worth the peace of mind. But if Instant On is prevalent in your area the V1 or Redline might be worth consideration.

We can help get you set up. A few questions - do you know the tools and tactics used by your local PD? Were you busted by radar or by laser? Are the roads crowded or quiet? Are there a lot of strip malls? Do you also worry about speed cameras?

I don't know what the police use around here, except for its a combo of laser and radar. I got hit with a laser when I got my ticket. The roads are generally pretty quiet, not too many strip malls, and I'm not worried about speed cameras.

Yea Its a shame. I was looking into a remote units that would cover both laser and radar, but even cheap ones are pricey and after installation it would probably come to around $1000. So right now I'm just looking for a solid radar detector. I might also look into Veil Stealth Coating.

You can pick up a Blinder M27 or an LI Dual for $500-600. Pair it with a good RD like the refurb Escort 8500 for $150 and you would be very well protected. The sum of these 2 investments is less than the cost of your next speeding ticket when you take into account fine, and inflated Insurance Premiums over 3-4 years.

Also think of it this way - even if you had bought the radar, you would still have got caught today. Unless you have both bases covered, speeding is playing russian roulette.

Don't expect anything from Veil without a jammer.

Alright thanks for the advice. I guess I'm going to have to get both a radar detector and a laser jammer.
