"I'm interested to see how well you do.I never seen a car JTG before would be a first for me.."
Welcome to the forum, and be aware RD's are illegal in VA when you drive through there. I had to unplug my 9500ix every time i got an alert. There was also a speed trap alert save i had too with my 9500ix so a GPS device is necessary.
I would look into getting a C100 or Escorts SC55 for that V1 combo. The speed trap and RLC's are a must going to FL from NY.
Drive safe.
Yes there are a lot of speed traps going down to florida on I95. i try to keep with the flow of traffic but sometimes i go a little beyond the limits. I definitely need some help in knowing where the speed traps are because it is a long drive and i want to get there quickly.
The C100 sounds good i am not sure if i am keeping the V1 yet because i don't have a car but i may keep it for when i move to florida it will be one less thing i have to buy. God Willing i will be moving in july. So if the C100 and the C50 do the same thing it would make sense to get the C100. Thank you for your input
Thank you all for welcoming me to the forum.
i also have to buy a new GPS i am looking at the 1690 but its so expensive i guess i will have to wait until the price come down. One of my recommended the tom-tom 740 live. Does anyone have that GPS? Right now i have the Nuvi 360 old model but it works great. i just wanted to upgrade to more features. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
C100 has the advantage it can filter V1 alerts if you are driving below the speedlimit. You can send the V1 alerts through the C100. Also comes with a lifetime subscription.
If you move to Miami I would say you are better off with a 9500ix than a V1+C100. Miami has a lot of false alerts, and 9500ix is much more effective here.
i am moving near orlando so i am hoping not to get too many false alarms. i like the V1 i think its a really good unit. its also a bit cheaper than the 9500ix.
sounds like c100 is a good deal with the V1. Can anyone recommend a good GPS? i am interested in the Garmin 1690 and the Tom-tom 740 live. can anyone suggest from experience a good GPS? thank you
heavy foot here hehe
I would suggest garmin units. I have couple of garmin units, couple tom toms and one navigon units.........Garmins are user friendly and the maps are very pleasant to view. the garmin 1690 is an awesome unit. I havent seen one to date. but from the videos i have see online, its seems to be a good gps unit. I am not a huge fan of the tom tom interface and usually takes me a lot more touches that i'm used too with the garmin.
i was leaning toward the Garmin 1690 i really like its features. that gas features are great the white pages are cool also.
