    Cool New from Omaha

    Hello to all!

I have been looking around the forums for about a month now learning and soaking in knowledge. I am a somewhat new rep with RadarBusters.com and this has been such an excellent board to learn many things I did not know before. I was referred by one of the other reps and visit the site often to research. So I thought I would start an acct and actually join the community. I'm still trying to figure out which detector I want to purchase.

What roads/areas do you normally travel? (no need for specifics)

On Omaha interstates I normally run into constant-on 34.7Ka from the OPD cruisers and occasional laser from motocops. State Patrol cars sitting along the interstates are almost always shooting laser. Also watch out for vascar (helicopter) from the State Patrol monitoring I-680 and West Dodge Expressway. West Dodge is understandable.. there's always a reckless a**hole getting caught going 120 in a 55.

On the city streets I rarely run into any enforcement except for some K-band every now and then during night hours on a weekend; in daytime the roads are congested enough to require any enforcement.

Thank you for the welcome everyone! I've been trying to visit lately, but holiday sales are crazy. I usually stay on the south side of town for day to day things, not much interstate travel either, except when I go to the west side of the state to visit parents (~3.5 hours of non-stop driving fun at PSL). Thank you for the info. I had no idea vascar by helicopter was used. I am currently using a borrowed 8500 x50 and have noticed the Ka with some K, no laser though. I get alot of X in my area in the evening. I was beginning to wonder if it was worth turning that off.
