    Smile New in Cincinnati

    Hi all,

I am TeRRy from Cincinnati. I just bought a new Grand Sport Corvette and am having an Escort 9500ci installed. So I am looking for information and other LEO enforcement stories, as well as trying to decide if I want to add the Blinder M27 or M47 and VEIL.

I don't have a lot of radar locally, but every time on the expressway it seems that I always find several that I will need to avoid.

I used to drive a Lincoln Continental which did not inspire me at all, so now that my license is completely clean, I bought this new Black on Black Corvette and I want to (hopefully) keep it that way

Looking forward to any advise and interesting stories iI can find here....

Hello to a fellow Corvette owner.

I tested my V1 for a couple of weeks. It was very annoying with all the false beeps. In some cases I would get 4 or 5 false beeps on one intersection. I would be looking at a Escort 9500ix

I spend some time posting at the "Corvette Forum". If you can't find your answer here you might there.

    Keep it safe!

    Ben

The ci works great on the C6. Check pics in my profile for my install of the 9500ci and Quad LI.

With a black C6 you should be invisible, stay away from Veil on the headlights, forget the ZR4 shifters on the C6, especially the back. The ZR4's probably won"t be strong enough to provide the coverage you will need on a C6.

I would think Blinder M47 or LI Quad for laser protection.

LI Quad (On Ice Cream Truck)

LI Dual (On SRX, 7.06 CPU)

I don't recall in the OPs message that he had a V1. He is installing a 9500ci. Now it would be an awesome combo to install the V1 and run it with the 9500ci, especially if the corvette hits the open highway.

    Thanx for the welcome people

So far I am thinking that I want to add the M47's to jam withthe 9500ci and use the zr4's as alert only.

I'd like to use Veil but from what I have been seeing, it causes problems with the headlight covers with tiny cracks, so I'd like to find something that works well enough so I won't really need to have to add it.

I'm not thinking of the V1 because of all the false alerts it throws. When I used to use an old one, I got so used to it alerting that I ended up just ignoring it most of the time and got nailed a few times. All those false alerts got me to hate it and made me really gun shy when it went off, so I want something more reliable that I will be able to trust and not just stupidly be slamming on the brakes at random times for nothing.

I expect to actually get the car around Fed-March and then this Spring I want to do some trips out west and visit my old haunts, as I used to live in Santa Monica for 20 years. Glad I least though as it is so crowded there now, you can't enjoy a nice drive at all.

I'm thinking that I want to go to the big Corvette rally in South Dakota if they have it again this year. When I bought my first Vette in 1985 I went there too. That was a good break in for the car and right after that in Utah I manages to hit 167 mph for the first time on a nice empty straight-a-way.

I will be getting a professional install on whatever I decide on as spending near $70k for a car makes me want to have knowledgeable people work on it as I only know how to drive them.

So far the only high speed tickets I have gotten have been in Cincinnati from being spotted in an airplane. And each one for me an "excess of 100 mph" gift. Seems that I only get regular tickets at low speeds near the posted limit.

Nice interesting forum here. I'll have to spend some time to discover all it's useful qualities. Thanx!

I would not use Veil on the headlights of a C6. ErickonPhoenix said it ruins the crisp lines of the HID lights. Others on the CorvetteForum have said that installing tint causes cracks.

I would not install Veil until I knew I needed it after testing.

I had the M25's on my Vette to begin with and they did pretty good. The M27/47's are way better than the 25 series, so I think you will be good without Veil.

Category4s setup is proven and well tested. You would be in great shape if you copied him.
