    Default Another newbie here

I don't have a lot of knowledge of rd, but I believe they are basically based on line of sight. For a rd to detect the presence of radar or laser the detector has to be able to sort of see the laser or radar signal. I have a convertable with a very small rear window, so I am thinking I will have a significant blind spot from behind unless the rd picks up a signal bouncing off of some other object. Am I thinking correctly? By the way, great sight here.

Totally incorrect. Radar bounces off of everything. Detecting radar over hills and around corners is quite normal for good RDs, although range is obviously reduced. Detecting radar that originates from the rear of the vehicle is quite easy for any decent RD, because the radar signal will bounce off of solid objects in front of the vehicle and be detected by the forward facing radar antenna.
