    Hi,I was wondering about if having your headlights on affect how a radar reads.I have a 1996 suburban that day time running lights.

    How would a light source interfere with a devices ability to pick up sound waves?

    Sound waves are pressure waves in the air (the actual air molecules, not just figuratively). If that's what LEOs were using we'd call it sonar.

    The only thing I have ever heard about headlights having any effect on a speed measurement device was with the old generation 1 laser guns. From what I remember there where some test done that shown there was a slight benefit to running with your headlights on against these guns.
