Thought Id say hello.

I just joined the site. I have been using a Valentine One that I bought in '99. I understand there have been some small changes to technology. Im considering an upgrade - especially for the improved laser performance.

My latest interest is using laser veil to coat the fog lights of my black, no front license plate, corvette in hopes of creating the 'ultimate' passive laser defense system.

Hope to learn and share what Ive learned.

none. just laser veil on the foglights. im hoping with my all black, retractable light corvette, that I wont need one for the typical long range highway encounters we have here in ohio. Just a good laser detector to know when they are trying. goal is to slow down before they get punch-thru.

Im also a very alert driver. Its very common that I actually see a police unit in the median and slow down a second or so before my valentine one alerts with laser.

maybe im disillusioned, but Ive heard these cars are slightly more difficult to detect by laser. low frontal area, surfaces angled upwards, retractable lights, black paint (non-metallic), no front license plate.

Welcome to the forum and the V1 is a very nice Choice. You might need to up-grade the V1.

Just an FYI, if you get hit with laser, the LEO has your speed already. Welcome to the forum.

Laser veil is only useful when paired with a laser jammer. Alone as a countermeasure it is downright useless to you. Your car is harder to obtain a speed reading on but even with the V1 it is highly unlikely that you will be given enough warning to slow down at all. Laser guns can have your speed in just over a quarter of a second.

Are the fog lights that much of a threat? His headlights will be tucked away. I don't think he would need a jammer. It doesn't sound like he is that much of a speeder anyway.
