Welcome to the forum man. Sorry that you live in Hellginia, the 2nd worst state on speeding laws. Search around hopefully you will master the game, and move the HELL out of that dump state.![]()
Hi Jeffinva,
You running any kind of CM's such as a RD? What kind of Ride you got?
Welcome to our forum
Welcome to the club.
I'm moving to Maryland in a month or two, so will be driving pretty often through your area. Looks like you need a Redline.

Thanks guys.
I'm driving a 2005 Acura TL. Haven't bought a radar detector yet but I'm trying to decide which one to get. The Valentine is my number one choice with a Bel STi a close second. I'm going to pull the trigger in the next couple of weeks. Been watching all kinds of youtube videos about each one. Since hanging around this forum I've been paying close attention to each and every police car around me looking for a Spectre RDD and much to my surprise I have yet to see one. I live in Fairfax county so I've only been looking at county cars. The state troopers are another story but I don't see them that often unless I take 395 to/from work in which case they are always lurking in the HOV lanes.
I've been using my coworker's old crappy Uniden radar detector just to see if what it's like to drive with a detector. I've learned a few things over the last 2 weeks.
This thing goes off constantly...as in every 3-5 seconds with Ka blips. Sometimes an occasional X blip. I guess this is because it's a crap detector and Northern Virginia is loaded with electro-junk in the air from alarms and automatic doors.
Another thing I've learned is that Fairfax county police use laser like crazy. They have my particular area where I live setup with officers zapping the hell out of everyone. I guess I'll work on the laser jamming thing once I get the radar detector purchased. My coworker's husband is a Fairfax county officer so I may pry her for information as to what laser guns they are using. I did ask about whether Fairfax county uses Spectres and the answer was "Yes, the county does have Spectre RDDs but only use them on a limited basis".
Openroad: Where at in maryland?
In VA your only choices are Redline, STi, STi-R, or 9500ci. Forget the rest as any stop from the popo is a fail!!
