    Cool Hey people!

Hey checking in! I have been a car nut for years, and should have bought another detector sooner. I have this car http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aN1gYPWsDM + a ford explorer for daily driving.

I recently had a spree of tickets in the ford explorer and camaro. All were bad luck. I had enough and bought a blinder laser jammer system for my explorer.(last ticket was laser) I recently bought a 9500ix, but not sure between that and the redline. Both im sure are great detectors, but wanted to make sure I would not be driven nuts in my area, so went with the tru lock system to test the waters.

In the past I have had a uniden model RD from i think the early 90's, and a radio shack model with built in compass and road alerts...weee! Both of those units were extremely annoying.

After using the 9500ix last night I am impressed, but dont think the filtering capabilities are necessary now after turning off x band and tru lock off immediately. What do you guys think?

    Julian

Redline has a greater sensitivity. Have you considered a V1?

and i LOVE that camaro exhaust.. what a beautiful sound.

if you want, you can post up pics of your blinder install and we can tell you if it will save you or not! explorers are pretty large are they not? or is that an excursion?

Thanks for the comments on my car, I love it and have had it for 11yrs now. It is way radical to drive, and only a weekend car.

Here is the pic on Blinder M27 placement. I was not worried about appearance over function when choosing spot. I have not had any problems yet , but I am always open to suggestions on placement.

Depends on what bands are used in your area.

It will be either V1 or redline. I just want to make sure I dont have unnecessary technology in my 9500IX when i could be getting better performance . I have read and read and they all have their ups and downs. Anyway you look at it I am glad to have one in my ride now, and cant believe it has taken me this long to get one again. I am not too worried about speed cameras or red light cameras. I know where most red light cameras are, and have not had any speed cameras in Houston. The main reason for the 9500IX purchases was to cut down on falses. I however was not sure how many there would be in my area.

I have turned off any learning capabilities, and I am running it hwy mode right now to see what exactly I am picking up locally. It is not too bad right now. Especially with no x and automute.

I have had some good experiences with just the blinder in Houston. It seems there are several divisions using laser as a primary, but you still run into radar. After my last ticket in my camaro I promised myself to get a RD again.

    Houston TX, southern area NASA/Galveston

I am running into ka from cops, but not sure if they use k band in my area. I am wondering about k band. I know I saw a mobile speed sign with k band yesterday. Obviously x is out. This is the area I am needing to really do the research on.

You're going to have to leave K band on. It is used in the Houston area. The 9500ix will do just fine in the Houston area.

If you plan on making any road trips though to San Antonio, Austin, or anywhere else in Texas, then I would recommend the V1 over the Escort Redline. The reason why is something called quick-trigger:

TX DPS loves to use QT Ka 34.7 on the Interstates and some major highways (I've encountered it on 290). Against this specific threat, the V1 is a better option than the Redline.

Just got back from going to RUSH concert tonight, and got hit by laser again at 12:45am. I noticed the 9500ix and blinder screaming instantly. I was not speeding at the time, but got to experience both together. I have had a good couple days with the RD so far!
