    Default Newbie From Upstate NY.

Hi all. Came across this site browsing around, trying to decide between a Redline or a Valentine One. Decatur 35.5 is used alot where i live. Won't ask many questions here, since this is not the appropriate forum. Glad i came across this great site.

    Welcome fellow New Yorker!

    I'd go with the V1.

    V1 1st choice and Redline 2nd IMO.

Where do u live (general region) where you face 35.5 in Upstate? Just curious as 34.7 is far more common place.

I live in Dutchess County. Poughkeepsie exactly. Travel the Taconic Parkway,NYS thruway. And in the towns of Fishkill, and Wappingers Falls alot. Also the surrounding towns of New Paltz,Hyde Park, etc, etc. Thanks people for your quick replies!

welcome to the forum, most likely a V1 would be your best bet, but since your in NY defiantly should look into a laser jammer, as laser guns are common there.

    I drove last month Albany/Platsburg on 87 ...
I had both v-1 and redline in the car ...

I prefer the v-1 , gave me alerts before the redline ,
in majority of encounters. Arrows are a big +

But if you cross the border ...redline for sure .

On the thruway you will encounter mostly (almost exclusively) 34.7/LIDAR... basically true for all NYSTroopers.

I use my V1 on the thruway, and a variety of other RD's for city use.
